Book readers and collectors everywhere are gearing up for the Springtime road trip to the Dandenongs and further up into Ferny Creek on Melbourne Cup Weekend, Saturday November 2nd 10-4 and Sunday November 3rd 10-4 at the Ferny Creek Recreation Reserve Hall, Hilton Road, Ferny Creek, 3786. Melway 75 D1.
Over the past decade, this Bookfair has become well known throughout Australia as the place to buy used, rare and hard-to-find secondhand books. Favourite authors of novels, history, autobiographies are tucked in amongst old treasures and provide ample opportunities to add to your own personal library, as well as purchase special items for friends and family.
The bookfair will be home to 10 local second-hand dealers with thousands of books to choose from. Adult and children's choices abound.
Joy Serwylo is a well-known Australian paper artist and will be demonstrating making decorations from discarded books on Saturday. Spend a little time in learning some of the "tricks of the trade" and make your own decorations in anticipation of Christmas.
