Mountain Drive starts and ends at Pine Road. (Melways map 52. B.3.)

It’s a narrow road with several sections signed as a single-vehicle passage.

It is a road of large blocks and modern houses. No footpaths, but wide verges, many flowering bushes and many trees. Two were an abelia shrub and an oleander tree. Only a couple of verge-growing geraniums were the only floral sightings.

Large blocks usually produce many different fences. I saw picket, stone and rock examples.

A Melbourne Water reserve crosses near both ends of Mountain Drive. A magpie was seen in the reserve squawking at something.

My walk started with the colourful sighting of two crimson rosellas landing in the tree I was standing under.

The drive meanders and undulates giving a walk in the country feel. The only pedestrians encountered were someone taking a stroll and a lady putting her wheelie bin out.

A few blocks had landscaped front gardens but only one garden lamp was noticed and no garden ornaments.

After reaching the end of the drive at Pine Road, instead of backtracking, I took a shortcut along Pine Road to meet up with my Pine Road starting point. Along this section, I saw several bronze-winged pigeons, a crimson rosella and a barking dog.

Walking the Pine Road section will give you a 900-metre interesting walk.
