The 2019 Mount Isa Multicultural Festival will showcase the rich culture that shapes Mount Isa and highlight the city's diverse nature, with abundant cultural talents and unique performances and a variety of traditional food, arts and crafts.
Mount Isa is located about 1829 km from Brisbane or 883 km from Townsville. Mount Isa is a mining town, with copper being mined in the area since the 1880s. In the late 1940s, a mining boom occurred attracting people not only from Australia but also from across the continent, to try their luck and work with one of the largest mining companies in Australia. That's why there are people of so many different ethnicities living in Mount Isa. According to 2006 statistics there are more than 20 languages spoken here.
Mount Isa Multicultural Festival will provide a family friendly environment with something to enjoy for everyone. The festival will be hosted by the Good Shepherd Catholic Parish and the cultural night will be located at Good Shepherd Church grounds on 17 Stanley Street Mount Isa This year, the festival will be on Friday the 6th September 2019 and will be celebrating Ireland in Mount Isa. This free event will start from 6pm until late at night.

Part of Stanley Street will be blocked off from traffic where a stage will be set up for live entertainment, such as music and dance groups performing. On the church ground, you can find food stalls with delicious traditional food from all over the world. You can also find kids' games, a cent sale, glow products, helium balloons and so much more! Don't forget to join the 10 000 Draw. Only 20 tickets available with each ticket costing $100.

Inside the church there will be mini museum exhibits and cultural displays showcasing historical artifacts and arts and crafts. Lots of free children's activities and a police booth can be also found inside the church.
