Great, outdoor fun for the whole family
Mount Cotton Community Park has been an asset to people in and around Redland City for many years. However, many people aren't aware of just how many upgrades these parklands have received over the years.
Mount Cotton Community Park has several safe options for the youngest family members. All of the play equipment is installed over soft, well-maintained sand or soft-fall surface. There is also a small water play area with a manual water pump and rocky creek for the water to flow along.

Young children often delight in feeding ducks, and the lakes at Mount Cotton have both native and introduced duck species permanently resident on them. For their own health, however, please bring seed or salads such as lettuce rather than feeding them bread.

Some of the playground equipment was designed with older children in mind. This equipment provides a more challenging environment and is complemented by large grassy areas, one of which includes soccer goals.
Furry family members are also catered for here, with a large, fenced dog park that includes a range of agility equipment and a shaded seating area for owners. Bins, water, and poop bags are provided in this fenced area by the council.

After all that fun, families may wish to take a break in the shade with a picnic or BBQ. These facilities are provided between the main playground area and the skate park. There are also toilets near the car park. If anything was forgotten at home, there is a large shopping centre with an IGA adjacent to the parkland.
