It's time to celebrate your leading lady and food-focussed Tramsheds is a wonderful precinct to do just that. With some special treats being organised, you can shower your mother with love, lunch or dinner and a floral workshop.

Blume Flower School is collaborating with this former historic tram depot to bring some blooming good experiences for mothers. Join the creative space, surrounded by like-minded people, and enjoy some indulgence in one or more of the following:-

Mum is the Best – Flower Crown (ready to wear) $65

Create a stunning Bouquet (that will be wrapped and ready for the journey home) $95

Make a lush Table Arrangement (you could take this one to lunch) $95

Each class is 45minutes in length and includes all the flowers and vessels, a glass of Bodega's sparkling wine and chocolates from Naked Foods. Tickets are on sale now for various timeslots (morning, afternoon or evening) from Friday 11 May through to Sunday 13 May, but hurry as places are limited.

Mum needs sustenance too and a number of the restaurants in Tramsheds are putting on special meals/offers, served with love, as follows:-

Bodega 1904 – a special brunch on Mother's Day from 10am will see this colourful Latin American establishment putting out a selection of tapas to choose from as well as choices from their a la carte menu, combined with a number of different bubbles available by the glass or bottle.

There is no set price but if you would like a set-priced meal there is a separate $70 Chefs menu, suitable for lunch. For more detail on these and for bookings, contact the restaurant on 02 8624 3133.

Osaka Trading Co – a huge 7-course seafood share menu will spoil the whole table with menu items including a modern Sushimi with Signature Scallops and soy butter, Market Fish in a Mushroom Dashi broth and a special dessert to celebrate your mum. It's available for lunch or dinner on Mother's Day at a cost of $59 per person with optional matching drinks.

Bookings are essential, either online or by calling 02 8880 0717.

Mama's Buoi – a Vietnamese banquet awaits here with dishes comprising Coconut Prawns, Beef Betel leaf parcels, fried chicken, pork ribs and Vietnamese slaw, Special Crab fried rice, Mango and Coconut Gelato with Orange Blossom fairy floss and Vietnamese coffee crθme brulee.

It's on both days of the Mother's Day weekend at a cost of $46 per person (minimum 2 people) and comes with a glass of sparkling on arrival. Click here to book or telephone 02 9552 1638.

Bekya – doing two banquets, this Egyptian kitchen will provide a selection of flat bread and dips, salads, a mixture of share plates and grilled meats, along with a choice of desserts on Mother's Day. Available for both lunch and dinner, they come in at $48 and $63 per person, with variations in the mains. A minimum of 2 people are required.

To view the menus, visit the website and scroll down to the banquets, underneath the regular individual items. You can book online or by phoning 02 9188 7437.

Butcher and the Farmer – a new menu is out and with a concept of share plates and fresh produce, mum and family can enjoy everything from chicken to duck and salmon to brisket, burgers, artisan cheeses and dessert. Nothing is set, the price is as little or as much as your menu choices.

Open for breakfast (weekends only), lunch and dinner, it's best to book online or on 02 8629 8800.

Redline Kitchen & Taphouse – this restaurant sits in the spot that was formerly Sir Chapel Brewery & Grill House and retains much of its decor. It's the perfect place to relax with a cocktail or a craft beer and for Mother's Day, this new venture is offering a free meal and drink for mum when two other mains are purchased.

Renowned for American soul food, their menu consists of Corn and Cheddar Hush Puppies (cheese balls), Duck Taquitos Durados (tacos), Jimbalaya (a Louisiana favourite of rice, tomato, andouille sausage, shrimp, celery, onion and spices), Cider Braised Pork Cheeks, Ribs St Louis style, Cornmeal Fried Snapper, pizzas, burgers, salads and delicious desserts.

The full menu can be found here. Book online or phone 02 9188 7255.

Gelato Messina – a special Mother's Day gelato box is being created that will make a cool gift for mum. There's sure to be chocolate involved but it's being kept under wraps for the moment. Details on the contents and cost should be released around the end of April. Click here to keep up to date on this one.

One can be forgiven for not celebrating one's mother year round but be sure to make Mother's Day weekend a special one to remember. Put a smile on her face and combine a floral class with brunch, lunch or dinner. She'll love you even more.
