Choose from cold savouries like sushi, wraps, bagels and more
We were guests at Crown Perth to review Afternoon Tea at Epicurean. The menu for Afternoon Tea at Epicurean is quite extensive. Guests receive a glass of sparkling wine on arrival and there is flowing percolated coffee and tea. The open kitchen is set up with multiple different food stations. There are cold savouries like sushi, mini smoked salmon bagels, wraps, and egg mayonnaise and chive on country bread. The hot savouries include steamed pork buns, mini burgers, samosa, empanadas and more. The world cheese station has dried nut mixes, fruit, various dips, bread, lollies, and different cheeses.

Make yourself a delicious cheese platter
My favourite section was desserts. You can pile up your plate with scones with double cream, butter and jam and have your pick of crepes, macarons, tartlets, assorted cupcakes, marshmallows, panna cotta, cheesecakes, and more. To view the full menu,

The dessert bar at Epicurean has lots to offer
I took my Mum along to Epicurean as an early Mother's Day present. When we arrived, many people were waiting to get in. The staff were efficient at getting everyone in through the door quickly and shown to a table. After we ordered some drinks, we grabbed some plates and went to get some food. I was unimpressed that a long line had formed to approach the hot food buffet. I eventually got to the front and piled up my plate. I got a mini wagyu burger with truffle mayonnaise and melted vintage cheddar, a steamed pork bun, a Malaysian curry puff, a quiche, and some sushi.

I really liked the Mini Wagyu burgers with truffle mayonnaise and melted vintage cheddar
I really liked the mini wagyu burger. I thought that the truffle mayonnaise was fantastic paired with the vintage cheddar, the burger was packed full of flavour, and the bun was fresh and had a nice crunch. I also really liked the steamed pork bun. It was delightfully fluffy and the inside was steaming hot and packed full of savoury goodness.

I had a lot of fun selecting desserts. I was a big fan of the fruit jellies.
I was so excited to select items from the dessert bar. When I got up to fill up my plate, I was happy to see that there was no longer a line to get to the buffet. There was so much to choose from. I got some chocolate bark with sprinkles and lollies, a small cupcake, a chocolate-dipped Oreo, fruit jellies, rocky road, a mini cheesecake, an opera cake and a chocolate cone.
I liked that there was such a big range of desserts to choose from. I really liked the chocolate-dipped Oreos. The chocolate was rich and smooth and very sweet. I was excited to try the chocolate bark. It broke in half with a satisfying snap, the lollies were a nice touch, but I thought the flavour was a little bit on the sweet side. I was impressed with the rocky road. The marshmallows were fluffy and sweet and the chocolate was rich and melted in your mouth. My favourite confectionery was the fruit jellies. They were super squishy and had just the right amount of sweetness.
