Someone else will have to buy your kid an Unlimited Ride Ticket but then you get to go on every ride with them for free. You can see Melbourne from the Scenic Railway Rollercoaster for a stunning view over Port Phillip Bay or ride the vintage horses on the beautiful carousel. Or how about showing the kids how you would really like to drive if they weren't in the car by bumping them in the Dodgem cars.

Monday Night Mums Eat Free
Okay, so this is Monday night but why not let Mother's Day hang over into the next day. In a surprisingly innovative move the Manhattan Hotel offers a Mum's Eat Free night every Monday. But you do need to be with a paying child who is 12 or under. Magic.
Every year, the Australian National Academy of Music, Australia's premiere institution for training the country's finest young classical musicians, offers a free concert for mothers. You will hear Hindson Piano Trio Debussy Cello Sonata in D minor de Jager Trumpet Concerto (world premiere) Brahms Trio for violin, horn and piano in E flat mum. There is even afternoon tea provided by South Melbourne Cafe, Burnt Butter.
Held in the gorgeous South Melbourne Town Hall
Bookings essential (03) 9645 7911
Hopefully this is just the tip of what's out there when it comes to free stuff for deserving mothers. Please keep a look out and if you hear of anything else put it in the comments section. After all, mothers are deserving. And the less you spend on our Mother's Day, the more you can spend on our presents.
Also: Mums skate free at the Medibank Icehouse on Mother's Day with any full paying entry. Download the special Mother's Day card fromwww.icehouse.com.au, print, fold and give to your Mum to take in and redeem.
