Do you want to do something special with Mum on Mother's Day in Newcastle? Then keep reading for some ideas to get you started - there will be a Mother's Day fun run, a bottomless brunch, special lunches and a craft workshop, where you and your mum can learn how to weave. Alternatively, take your Mum to her favourite cafe , visit Blackbutt Nature Reserve with young kids or take a drive to Hunter Valley Gardens , if she loves nature and her garden.

Wherever you take her, she is sure to love it - because you're there!

1/ The Mother's Day Classic charity run will be held at Carrington, to raise money for breast cancer research. Walk or run the 3km or 5km legs of the course and make money for a worthy cause! See here to register.

2/ The Well at 48 Watt Street will be having a beautiful Mother's Day Brunch. This venue has a Bottomless Brunch every weekend with a gold tower of bagels, smoked salmon, creme fraiche, fresh fruit and pastries, with bottomless Prosecco, Mimosas and a selection of beers and wine. 3/ The Exchange Hotel in Hamilton will have a two-course set menu, a complimentary glass of bubbles for Mum and live music all afternoon. The cost is $55 per adult and $15 for children under 12. See here for details.

4/ Mother's Day MRAG Weaving Workshop will be held at the Maitland Regional Art Gallery between 1pm - 3pm. This workshop will teach participants about Aboriginal weaving and they can make some weaving to take home with them. Book in with your Mum and spend some quality time communicating with each other, as well as others from the local community. The cost is $91.50 per person. See here for details.

5/ Shoal Bay Country Club is located at Shoal Bay in Port Stephens, a 1 hour drive north of Newcastle. If you would like to drive up for a day trip, they have a stunning Mother's Day planned in their water view hotel . Enjoy a delicious 3-course lunch with a view and all mums will be treated to a free glass of sparkling on arrival.
