Spend quality time with your Mum
Mother's Day is on its way and if you are planning on doing something special, then you may need to book in early. Of course, your Mum will be happy with whatever you choose to do, but sometimes it is nice to so something special to surprise her! You can book a table at her favourite cafe or restaurant, organise a picnic with her favourite foods, take her for a scenic walk or book in for any of the events, below. A popular way to spend Mother's Day in Canberra is to run together for the Mother's Day Classic around Lake Burley Griffin, to raise money for breast cancer research.

The Mother's Day Classic is a charity fun run to raise money for breast cancer research. You can choose between 5km or 10km run or walk, which starts at Rond Terrace by Lake Burley Griffin. The course is pram and wheelchair friendly and there will be an event village, entertainment, food stalls and more! If you would like to participate, then you need to register and a race pack will be posted to you with a headscarf, race bib and tribute card to honour loved ones on the day at the tribute wall. You'll also receive a commemorative medallion when you cross the finish line. See here for full details.
Star Buffet in Tuggeranong will be having a special Mother's Day menu, at a cost of $36.80 for adults and children cost $2.60 x their age. The buffet will be open all day between 11:30am and 9pm, with sitting times limited to 2 hours. This buffet restaurant is located inside the Canberra Burns Club, for members, guests and visitors. The National Arboretum will be having a Mum's Tea in the Village Centre, with a delicious selection of sweet and savoury treats with accompanying drinks for morning or afternoon tea.
