Escape the City with Mum this Mother's Day
Image: Yarra Valley Chocolaterie
Quality time awaits outside the city limits this Mother's Day. Relaxing, refreshing, creative, exciting, and adventurous; Mums are as unique and varied as Melbourne's day trip options! Share your favourites with us in the comments? Here are a few of my favourites:
THE CREATIVE MUM:Yarra Valley Chocolatarie Is celebrating ROCKY ROAD in May. Rock Around the Block classes offer an array of Rocky Road creativity for Mums. "Kick off with a Rocky Road infused hot chocolate, then sample seven Rocky Road flavours, an exquisite Rocky Road couverture truffle, and two different Rocky Road ice creams to inspire the creation of your very own Rocky Road bar to take home." Hour long classes 'behind the scenes' at the Chocolaterie will 'rock on' every Saturday of the Festival at 11.30am and 1pm ($45 per person; bookings essential on 9730 2777).
THRILL SEEKING MUM: Would your Mum rather surf in the trees than soak in the spa? Send her tree surfing! The High Ropes Adventure course at the Enchanted Adventure Garden (Enchanted Maze) in Arthur's Seat has an incredible tree surfing challenge. Tree surfing for adults is $59 and includes park entry fees and other park activities. There is a Little Nippers course too, if you've got younger kids that would like to have a go. Grab an espresso before your booking (or perhaps a tea to calm you down afterward?) at the onsite cafe.
FOODIE MUM: Both Grange Cleveland Winery and Grange Bellinzona (Daylesford) will be hosting a Mother's Day Lunch on Mother's Day, Sunday, 10 May, 2015. The two-course meal with live music, a glass of wine and flower for each mum will make the day extra special. From $65pp, kids $25 (aged 5 – 12)
