What better way is there to start Mother's Day than with your family and friends soaking in the salubrious fresh air? Women In Super organises this fun event, bright and early on Mother's Day morning, to raise awareness for the well-being of women.
The event is a 4km or 8km walk or run; it's up to you. And if you're not yet interested, it can be an invaluable volunteering experience cheering alongside the walkers and runners or behind the scenes ensuring all is well. I still have my free blue T-shirt.

The event is held in the Domain with the starting line on Macquarie Street and in Parramatta Park.
All proceeds go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the leading community funded organization which looks to the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer that affects women but there is hope. Most women survive breast cancer and go on to lead happy and long lives.
It is important to support breast cancer related organisations and in 2013, this event gathered 135,000 people on Mother's Day across Australia raising in total $5 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
You can register online or in person on the day before or early in the morning just before the run.
