Do something different this Mother's Day and walk or run to make a difference in the lives of those diagnosed with breast cancer. Funds raised go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for breast cancer research. Current research projects in South Australia include understanding how pregnancy protects against breast cancer, identifying genes important for lymphangiogenesis and optimising imaging surveillance for women in complete remission.
You can register online for the walk or run via the Mother's Day Classic website. The event will be held on Sunday 14 May 2017 from 6.30am starting at Peace Park which is located, opposite the Memorial Hospital, at the corner of Sir Edwin Smith Avenue and War Memorial Drive in North Adelaide. You can choose to walk/run either 4.6km or 7.3km. There will also be brief talks on the main stage and extra activities for the kids such as face painting and jumping castles.
So let's be part of this annual fun walk/run event that brings the community together to support all those who have been touched by breast cancer.
