Fundraise for Charity
Celebrate and remember those touched by breast and ovarian cancer and help raise life-saving funds for research at this year's Mothers Day Classic 2024.
The annual Mother's Day Classic Fun Run and Walk will be held on 12 May 2024 across major cities in Australia to advance understanding and treatment for important health issues facing women.
Statistics
Ovarian Cancer
Approximately one in 100 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in their lifetime. Ovarian cancer is the eighth most common type of cancer in Australia and the sixth most common type of cancer to lead to loss of life. Approximately 1,815 Australian women and 340 New Zealand women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year.
Breast Cancer
Breast cancer has now become the most commonly diagnosed cancer worldwide, with around 2.3 million people diagnosed with the disease globally each year. In Australia and New Zealand (Aotearoa), it is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.
So what better way to take positive action to help fight these diseases symbolically on Mother's Day than by taking to the pavement for a gentle stroll and chat, walking with gusto or running with purpose through some of the country's major walking sites at this year's Mother's Day Classic on 12 May 2024
Here are some of the places where you can get involved.
Brisbane
Run or walk the 4km course from the Southbank Forecourt
