4 Mother's Day Breakfast Ideas

Mother's Day is our chance to say "Thanks" to our Mums and Mothers. Flowers and hand made gifts are lovely ways to say thanks to Mum, but my adult kids think the best way to say "Thank You" to their Mum is to shout breakfast. I'm inclined to agree.

The good news is that Brisbane has some beautiful cafes that will be open for breakfast this Mother's Day. These are my top 4 suggestions.

Jam 4012 - Nundah
A bustling cafe on the corner of Sandgate Road and Boyd Street, Nundah, Jam 4012 boasts a menu full of eye-catching treats. Enjoyable coffee and a nice vibe. They don't take bookings at Jam 4012 so arrive early on Mother's Day, grab a table and enjoy the ambiance.

My Mistress Cafe - Clayfield
My Mistress Cafe at 515 Sandgate Road, Clayfield is in my list of Mother's Day breakfast cafes because of the service we received last time we were there. The manager made us feel so very welcome. The breakfast menu was plump and well rounded, the coffee was fresh and the atmosphere was a clear contrast to the bustle of Sandgate Road. Again, no bookings taken so the early bird gets fed at this popular breakfast patch.

The Moray Cafe - New Farm

The Moray Cafe, on the corner of Merthyr Rd & Moray St, is on my list because I would drive across town to cappuccino at this urban jewel. I mean YUM! Belgian Chocolate sprinkled over a piping hot coffee. Who needs food? However, since Mother can not live on coffee alone, it's lucky that the Moray Cafe backs up the coffee menu with a food selection worthy of a Queen. One of my favourites for Sunday breakfast or brunch, the moray Cafe DOES take bookings (phone 07 3254 1342) so you can sleep in and know your table is reserved.

Double Shot Espresso - New Farm
Double Shot Espresso serves up a friendly vide, beautiful food and a Sunday morning breakfast experience worth waiting for. Located at 125 Oxlade Drive, New Farm and a short walk from the Sydney Street ferry terminal, Mother's Day morning could be the first stop of your Mother's Day family adventure.

So say thanks to your Mum, Mother or Motherly figure this Mother's Day by taking her out for breakfast. Brisbane has some wonderful cafes that would love to help.
