Last year on the 40th anniversary of this fabulous song's release, around 400 diehard fans – women, men, kids and even a rabbit and a greyhound – met up at Sydney Park to do the exact same thing.
Much to the delight of Sydney's Kate Bush fans, the Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever will return this year on Saturday 13th July 2019 from noon at Sydney Park, St Peters. Now in its 4th year, the flash group dance event has grown into a worldwide phenomenon with over 30 cities participating. On this day, people all over the world will be gathering in major cities and windy moors in their prettiest red frocks. They will all delight in the experience of the joy that is the 1978 Kate Bush masterpiece, Wuthering Heights. Everyone will be able to dance to their heart's content. They can frolic and dance freely on the grass.
The event is free and there's no need to register. Just turn up to the show on the day. If you feel really inspired you could make a donation on the day. This would go towards the event expenses with any surplus being donated to WLS NSW, a not-for-profit charity. These people provide free, confidential legal advice and referrals to women in NSW. Their focus is on family law, parenting issues, domestic violence, sexual assault and discrimination. They also run an Indigenous Women's Legal Program.
You can also get your Wuther on early, learn the correct moves and naturally make some new like-minded friends at the rehearsal on Thursday 11th July. Program and details can be found at the Facebook events page.
All ages and genders are welcome at this event. If you would like to join in, please bring:
Unadulterated joy which is definitely mandatory for this event.
A Kate Bush style gown which is optional but will make the atmosphere so much better.
Anything goes, as long as it's red! If you prefer the white dress version, then that is also okay and not a problem.
A positive attitude, which is definitely mandatory.
The venue is Sydney Park, near the entrance that is close to St Peters station on the green. This is near the little cafe and playground. Click this link to view it on Google maps.
