The Worst Place for Driving
For the fifth year in a row,
Springvale Road in Glen Waverley (according to the 2017 AAMI Crash Index) is the most dangerous. This notorious road is part of a major thoroughfare in Melbourne's eastern suburbs and attracts high volumes of traffic daily. Click
here for some other dangerous intersections and roads.
Protect Your Valuables
The latest
National Crime Statistics show the postcode with the highest number of aggravated robberies was actually in the CBD of Melbourne (Postcode 3000) with 159 incidents in 2017. Second on the list was St Albans with 67, and then Dandenong with 59. Naturally, large suburbs or those with many people passing through them have a chance for more crime.
Don't Swim Here
And finally, the
Yarra River is the deadliest inland river per metre in Australia. New data shows alcohol, tourists and young men who dare each other to swim the river are contributing to tragic drownings. Save your swims for a calm day on the beautiful bay.
