For my 30th birthday this year, I booked a table for eight at the most talked about restaurant on the Swan River, Mosmans.

Originally booked for 6pm and eight people, my driver took so many scenic detours that we arrived fifteen minutes into our sitting and with only five people, but no dramas for the lovely staff of Mosmans as they were quick to disassemble the table of eight into a table of five before our very eyes.

After being escorted and seated at our table by the glorious windows overlooking the Swan River and the jetty abundant with luxurious yachts and vessels, my two munchkins were very pleased about seeing little fish swimming in the light of the Mosmans sign reflecting on the water below.

Quick on our heels was a lovely lass with a French accent to take our order for drinks. Two lemonades and an endless supply of still water for each person saw the lass leave our sides and complete the order.

Grandma was our only guest to show that night and was more than happy to show our munchkins the artistic sculptures scattered around the restaurant and fish swimming below. She also had a lot of questions to ask the friendly staff that were more than happy to assist. And with that for dinner we all ended up with a glorious Seafood Platter to share between two. Two tiers of hot, cold seafood, salad and hand cut chips. Mosmans Seafood Platter - Cold Moreton Bay bugs, whole prawns, natural oysters, smoked salmon and pink peppercorn dressing - Grilled prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, seared scallops, market fresh fish, steamed white wine mussels, cornichon aioli, hand cut chips

So much, so filling, no wonder they cater for two. But there was still room for dessert, there is always room for dessert at an exclusive dinner. With me being anaphylactic to egg dessert is sometimes a nightmare, but our French lass went and asked the chef what had egg and which didn't and I chose the Panacotta, my daughter (8) and grandma chose the Chocolate Tart and my son (6) chose the all time favourite Vanilla Ice cream and Chocolate Sauce.

Now we were definitely full and very satisfied.

Hubby was left to settle the bill whilst grandma and I took the munchkins to the luxurious bathroom before the drive home.

With five full bellies and $280 lighter, we would definitely recommend Mosmans to anybody who would like to celebrate with family, or just enjoy fine dining with children.

Hubby and I may just go by ourselves for a romantic diner one time. For info on what's happening at Mosmans and fantastic menu specials visit their website .
