How often is it that we learn something new after we hit our mid-twenties? Well, here's your opportunity.

runs short courses and workshops throughout the year. They range from 1 or 2 day to 8 week courses.

Course categories include: languages, creative arts, business studies, computer studies, food and wine, gardening, lifestyle, leisure activities, sport and exercise, performing arts and health.

The course listing is vast and varied. They range from 'baby massage' to 'hula hooping for over 50s baby boomers' and from 'shoemaking' to 'tennis for beginners'.

I recently started a 'presence meditation' course which costs $90 and runs for 8 weeks at 7pm on a Tuesday night. The course focuses on the principles of mindfulness and traditional meditation to bring more calm, clarity and productivity to day to day living.

I've really enjoyed the classes so far. It's great to learn new things, meet new people and do something different after a long day at work.

The college is a not for profit organisation. Students' fees provide the funds for the operating costs of the college. It runs over 300 courses throughout the year, in each of its four terms, held day and evening, seven days a week.

Students must be over 15 years old and those with a Seniors Card may be eligible for a 10% discount.

You can either enrol in person at 8 Gladstone Ave, Mosman 2088 or online at www.mcc.nsw.edu.au

The next term starts on 4 February 2013 and finishes on 6 April 2013.

Maybe I'll try 'Flying Trapeze Classes' next!
