The Mosman Art Society was established following discussions held by a group of Mosman residents in 1994. They shared a vision of a studio and gallery where artists could meet and share their common interest in art. As a result the Society was incorporated in June 1995. Three years later, the Mosman Council established the Mosman Art Gallery and Community Centre.

Once again they are exhibiting a great collection of artwork at Fred Hutley Hall in the North Sydney Council Chambers which will open from Saturday the 28th of May and conclude on Saturday the 4th of June at 5pm.
There will also be a Gala Opening night on Friday the 27th of May where you can come along and meet the artists between 6 and 9pm. Finger food and drinks will be served.
There will be artworks selected from 133 entries, mostly Oil, Acrylic and Watercolours from 58 artists. While there, you will have the chance to buy some of the artwork that ranges from $100 to $4,500.
Maybe you will be inspired by some of these great creations and would like to join the Mosman Art Society. Membership is open to all artists using most medias, living anywhere in Australia and they cater for novices through to the professional artists.
Not only can you learn to be a better artist, you get the chance to join other artists visiting other art galleries, attend demonstrations by professional artists at Mosman Art Gallery, both for their members and visitors alike. You can also take part in their Plein Air painting program and what's even better you can invite a friend to come along.
They also contribute to the artistic life of the community by supporting the Mosman Art Gallery by sponsoring art prizes, contributing to their Painting on The Promenade Project and also organising exhibitions of member's artworks at Mosman Art Gallery, The Julian Ashton Art School at Georges Heights and at Hutley Hall North Sydney.
