Celebrating its 67th year, Mosman Art Prize is one of the prestigious art prizes in Australia. As this is one of my much anticipated art events, I was excited to attend the opening night on the 31st July to hear the announcement of the winner of the Mosman Art Prize 2014.
The winner is
Michael Muir and his winning work titled 'Past the stacks'. In his speech, he mentioned that his artwork had only been hung twice over the last decade. I felt like that his accomplishment, similar to most artists, is a true testament to his perseverance and commitment to his art practice.

JOSEFIA LEMON: TRANQUIL MOMENTS exhibition is also currently showing at the gallery until 12th of October. Beautifully painted and nicely composed, Josefia's paintings capture the tranquil moments of the Middle Harbour area between Mosman and Cremorne in watercolours and oils. Don't miss out.
Happy viewing.
