The Mosaic Festival on Sunday 13 October 2019 from 10am to 5pm at Roma Street Parkland, 1 Parkland Boulevard, Brisbane has all the markings of a great cultural event that brings a mosaic of people together that spells out QUEENSLAND. This is a FREE event but you need to REGISTER for your free tickets. Donations on entry would be appreciated.
This event is all about celebrating the mosaic of multicultural people who have made Queensland great. There's an exhibition of photography, visual art and spoken word sponsored by Multicultural Affairs Queensland. The exhibition It's Who We Are says it all.
All program and activities at this family-friendly event is FREE. Brought to you in partnership with Suncorp, the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council, enjoy cooking demonstrations by notable cooks with intriguing stories to tell. Follow that up with a sampling of coffee from aspiring young baristas, then explore the Global Bazaar with handicrafts from diverse artists for that unique gift for family and friends. Experience a world of colour and hustle and bustle like that of a busy Moroccan market place.
From a Tibetan Mandala you can contribute to, and Lullabies and Stories showcasing diverse voices, there are performance stages to enjoy and chill to. Brisbane meets London is what you'll have at The Soap Box Stage with Hyde Park's Speaker's Corner re-visited! Enjoy other creative speakers or get up on your own soapbox. If relaxing is all you want to do, The Lake Stage has the best in World Music, or you could head to the Celebration Stage for community dance.
