Mosaics - the art of creating designs and images using glass, stone, tiles and ceramics. Whether they be a simple design for a tabletop or a more intricate artwork to be displayed, the art of mosaics provides something to suit everyone's tastes.

Many examples of this artform, featuring both two and three dimensional art work will be on show at an exhibition being held by the Queensland Branch of the Mosaic Association of Australia and New Zealand (MAANZ) from 10 September to 21 September 2014 at the Percolator Gallery in Paddington, Brisbane.



Members of MAANZ will be showcasing their best work and vying for awards supplied by their organisation and exhibition sponsors. Members of the public are also invited to vote for their favourite piece for the People's Choice Award.

Visitors can view hanging and free-standing mosaic art in various styles and covering a variety of subject matter. All items on display are for sale, therefore providing a great opportunity to purchase artwork that is truly unique.



The exhibition is open to the public from Wednesday 10 September, however members of the public are also invited to attend the exhibition's opening night on Friday evening 12 September between 6pm and 8pm where the award winners will be announced. Entry to the exhibition, including opening night is free.



MAANZ is a not for profit organisation aiming to encourage mosaic hobbyists and professionals to express and share their creativity through the art of mosaics, by providing a mentorship programme and organising mosaic exhibitions and events.
