Event: -
See photos from a day in the life of over 300 people
MOSAIC is a "crowd-sourcing photography project" and free public exhibition, harnessing the potential of imagery to connect people, places and moments.

Each and every photograph in MOSAIC reveals a personal story by the particular photographer and a unique moment in time, and these together form a grouped memory of our life and culture in WA. MOSAIC is a project that has been running for 5 years now, and this year, it will be on for about a month.

This year, there have been over three hundred Western Australians who captured a single photo from their day as part of MOSAIC, a community photography project that captures 24-hours of life in WA.

Every image that has been submitted will be shown in an impressive free public exhibition which will be located in a prominent shop-front near the Hay Street Mall entrance of Carillon City, which is right in the heart of the Perth CBD.

It is presented by Propel, which is a brand of flavoured bottled water with antioxidants, and vitamins, and the event is also in partnership with the City of Perth.

MOSAIC is a unique project that explores the collective memory of Western Australians. From Elizabeth Quay to Esperance, Applecross to Albany, each photograph will tell an individual story about each of the people participating in this event, whilst forming a distinct narrative about a day in WA - 24 hours - your camera.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD
The public will once again have the chance to vote for their favourite MOSAIC photo, which can be done either in person at the exhibition or online at this website.

Voting will open on Thursday 26th October, and the results will be announced on Friday 24th November. If you cast a vote, you will go into the draw to win an exclusive double-pass to Black Swan State Theatre Company's production of "Let the Right One In."

The winner of this year's MOSAIC People's Choice Award will receive a prize pack that includes:

$300 voucher from Leederville Cameras
Original art cards & prints from Beau Est Mien Prints and Designs
One-year free membership at The Blue Room Theatre
Plus extra prizes still to be announced

So, when you go to this great exhibition, make sure you vote for your favourite photo for this award!

Support for this project is also supplied by:
The Western Australian Government through the Department of Local Government
Sport and Cultural Industries (Culture and the Arts WA)
The Perth Fashion Festival (PFF)
Fitzgerald Photo Imaging
Plus all of the amazing members, supporters, volunteers, board members, and staff.

This is one exhibition I have marked in my diary as I think it will be fascinating to see other people's perspective of a photo of one day in their life, and it's a free event!

Here is a video clip of the 2015 Exhibition to "whet your appetite!"

So, do something different - catch a train into town, or go by bus, or cycle, or even take your car, but make sure you get to see this fascinating exhibition, vote and be in with a chance to win the double pass prize!
