The Queens's Birthday long weekend has just got better, with the Mornington Winter Music Festival just around the corner. From 10-13 June 2022, various venues will be filled with live music spilling out onto the streets, while the streets fill with free entertainment for all to enjoy. Music makes the soul sing, and there's nothing like 'live' music to fill the senses. A long weekend not to be missed, Mornington is going crack open and come alive with a celebration of music, arts and heritage. With so much happening, you might even want to treat yourself and sort out accommodation to stay the whole weekend.

Restaurants, cafes, hotels, galleries and parks will perk up with a diverse mix of rock, jazz, blues, swing, tradition, progressive, classic offerings - something for everyone, along with buskers and roving performers along Main Street. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy locals as well as internationally recognised artists. See here for the full program ; the street program , and the venue details .

The Mornington Heritage Blues Train will take you a step back in time to a bygone era, so take a ride at the Historical Mornington Railway. There are both steam and diesel heritage broad gauge joint locomotives and passenger cars between Moorooduc and Mornington on Sunday 12 June. Join The Roomatics on the 10am and 12am trains for some foot-tapping blues. Departure times change, so please refer to the Mornington Railway Website . Give the kids and yourselves an experience and go choo choo.

For your full artist lineup, see here to click on the artist you're interested in, to view venues and dates. Amidst the music, for the record and vinyl lover, there's the Record Fair on 11 June at the Royal Hotel, 770 Esplanade, Mornington. Enter via the side door located on Royal Street. Entry is free after 10am and will close to the public at 2pm. There's plenty of bargains for the early birds who enter at 9am for a fee of $5, so if you want to be first come first served, lucky little early bird, pay the 5 bucks and get first pick to go crate digging from curated, great vendors.

Phil Ceberano (recognise the surname?) and his band Bigfoot will be making their Mornington Winter Music Festival debut on Sunday 12 June at the Royal Hotel. While it's not their first time rockin' the Royal, Ceberano and Bigfoot band mates Scott Thornburn and Andy Sylvio perform their own special mix of Funk, Soul and Rock'n'roll, which is always a hit with fans when the boys hit town between TV commitments and stadium guest spots. Bigfoot sightings can be rare in the region, so make sure you make the most of this awesome opportunity. With free entry, get in early!

From Flamenco dancers and Spanish guitarists playing while you're chowing down on delicious Spanish tapas, to Art Exhibitions, Music in the Gallery and more, be thrilled about the upcoming winter music festival that's bound to warm your soul on these cold autumn evenings, heading into winter. You can show support for the fantastic homegrown Mornington Peninsula musicians at a cruisey family friendly event, Home-Grown Rootsy Blues at 25 Diane St, Mornington on Sunday 12 Jun from 5-9.45pm. From new local upcoming original musicians Madison Daniel, Holly Hebe & Blue Tuesdays, Tillerman Pete who have just released their first LP, to one of the top ten Australian Blues bands, The Hoodoo Men, this is an event to celebrate local! Scour the program and stay in touch via Facebook for interesting snippets and updates and follow the piper for the music.
