Do you fancy yourself as a runner? Put yourself to the test at the Mornington Running Festival. With several options for racing distance, there is no excuse not to squeeze into your best active wear and hit the pavement.
Take on the five or ten-kilometre fun run, and take the opportunity to raise some much-needed funds for mental health charity Beyond Blue. Or, challenge yourself with the 21 kilometre half marathon. All races take place on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula- a much better view than from the treadmill. There is no pressure to run the whole way, with plenty of entrants choosing to walk at their own pace.
Even children can take part in a race, with a one-kilometre course for kids only.
Races of all lengths take place in the morning of Sunday the 4th of September, with an early start at 7:15am for the half marathon. Those seeking shorter race distances have a slightly later start. You can view the running order of the day here.
There is more to do than just take part in one of the races. Supportive friends and family of competitors will be happy to know that a Health and Lifestyle Expo will be held alongside the races, with exhibitors selling health food and products.
