For the best produce, home baked goods and craft

Mornington Racecourse Market is run by Craft Markets Australia. It is held on the second Sunday of each month and features over 300 stalls offering locally made, grown and baked goods.

Fresh Flowers

As a frequent shopper at the Mornington Racecourse Market, I find different things all the time. I love buying the kids hand made clothing. The stall holders frequently come up with new and interesting ideas. Everything is unique, you won't find things in shops and usually anything can be made to order.

One of the great things with markets is you can talk to the person who made, grew or baked the items. It's more of an experience than shopping online, and definitely more enjoyable.

Food is a big seller at the market and there is a huge variety, from organic fruit and veggies, smoked meats and seafood, jams and preserves, hot food, cakes, biscuits and much more.

Greg with his famous pies and sponges

On entry to the market we found a large food stall selling cakes, sponges, pies, scones and other delights. Greg, pictured, and his wife have been selling for an amazing 33 years and their products are extremely popular. My advice would be to buy early before they sell out.

I also found these amazing hand crafted limestone planters made by Rachael. A great gift.

Dave's Place for Coffee

Grab a coffee from Dave's place and enjoy it on the lawn with something to eat, whilst the children are well catered for with an animal farm, face painting and a drawing/painting stand with large poster size pictures.

Sunny Ridge strawberry farm grows strawberries in Red Hill where you can pick your own. They also sell strawberry wine, jam and seasonal berries.
