The Creative Industry Expo is being held at the Strathpine Community Centre, 199 Gympie Road (conveniently located in close proximity to Strathpine Shopping Centre and Strathpine Railway Station), where there will be free entry all day. Browse the many exhibition stands, meet and network with fellow creative industry types and attend the speech and workshop of renowned economist and enterprise facilitator Dr Ernesto Sirolli.

Dr Sirolli, founder of the Sirolli Institute and internationally acclaimed speaker, will address attendees at 10:30am with his talk 'Passion is Gold', focusing on the critical role of creative industries as a driver and contributor to economic development. Attendees will be able to participate in a Question and Answer session with Dr Sirolli and discuss the values of the creative industries from his contemporary international perspective.

Lifestyle and Amenity Spokesperson and Division 4 Councillor Julie Greer said the expo would showcase businesses and professionals from the Moreton Bay Region's creative industry sector.

"The Creative Industry Expo is a great initiative that will help build business networks between our region's many creative talents" Councillor Greer said (Moreton Bay Regional Council website).

"It's a must do if you're a business, professional or you simply have an interest in a creative field like visual arts, graphic design, printing, publishing, architecture, photography or fashion design" (Moreton Bay Regional Council website).

Moreton Bay Regional Council's 2010-2013 Cultural Strategy "Richer than the sum of its pARTS"

The first Moreton Bay Regional Council Creative Industry Expo is a direct result of the Moreton Bay Regional Council's 2010-2013 Cultural Strategy 'Richer than the sum of its pARTS'. The structure of strategy is based around three overarching Strategic Directions:
Building Capacity: Creative People
Building Infrastructure: Creative Places
Building Vitality and Viability: Creative Living

"The people, places and assets of our region already express our culture, arts and heritage in diverse, interesting and inspiring ways. It is hoped that the next three years will see our sector strengthened and new directions realised" (Moreton Bay Regional Council website).

Aims currently being investigated and/or implemented in accordance with the strategy Richer than the sum of its pARTS are:
Inform a broader strategic awareness of Creative Industry needs
Improve/support promotion of the sector
Contribute to the sustainability of Creative Industries in the region
• Identify opportunities for businesses to network
• Attract innovative Creative Industry investment to the region
• Build inter-regional supply chains and improve local purchasing
