Take to the high seas this weekend on South Passage, Queensland's tall ship.South Passage is hosting their popular 'Moreton Bay Day Sail' on Saturday, 5th March 2016!Book now to avoid disappointment.South Passage is a two-masted 100 foot (30.5m), gaff rigged schooner. She is a modern ship, launched in 1993, but built on the design of the 19th century pilot schooners that operated off the east cost of America. She is sailed the traditional way where everything is done by hand.South Passage is a sail training ship often used by school groups to develop sailing and life skills. The ship also regularly hosts fun-filled day trips for families and keen sailors, but if you have never sailed before, the friendly crew will literally show you the ropes! You'll have fun learning how to raise sails, haul in a sheet and tack and gybe.On this day trip, you'll depart William Gunn Jetty, Manly at 10am. Guests should be onboard before the departure time and are encouraged to bring picnic food and refreshments.Then during the morning and afternoon you'll have the unique opportunity to experience an authentic Tall Ship and are likely to see dolphins and dugongs. Feel the rush, the wind in your face and the thrill as you hoist sails, tack, navigate and helm the ship's wheel.You can do as much or as little work as you desire and if you have never sailed before, the skipper will be on hand to literally show you the ropes!Come along with friends and family and enjoy a relaxing sail on Moreton Bay, taking in island views and perhaps a spot of swimming!You'll return to William Gunn Jetty, Manly at 4 pm.Early bookings are advised.
