More Meat, Please!: Delicious Sandwiches for Meat-Eating Kids (Between the Bread) - Book Review
In Summary
With this cookbook, a child can make and eat delicious sandwiches whenever they want. A sandwich is whatever you make of it! Wrap it, fold it, stack it, slice it! Let them be the judge of their masterpiece. A few suggestions include:
Classic Italian Sandwich
Hoagie, oil and vinegar, tomatoes, onion, lettuce, capicola, salami, provolone cheese.
Club Sandwich
Toasted white bread, mayonnaise, turkey, bacon, tomato, lettuce.
Spaghetti Sandwich
Oven-roasted garlic bread, meat sauce, spaghetti, mozzarella.
Meatball Sub
Hoagie, mozzarella, marinara and meatballs.
Pizza Melt
Italian bread, pizza sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni.
BLT Sandwich
White bread, mayonnaise, tomato, lettuce, bacon.
In Opinion
Building sandwiches is something a child can do for themselves. Have ingredients handy. They usually know when they are hungry. The one recipe for a Spaghetti Sandwich does require an adult for oven toasting the garlic bread. While on the topic of Spaghetti Sandwiches, you can use up leftover spaghetti!
I really liked this cookbook. I have written a similar review on a cookbook called
Hold The Meat which is about sandwiches for vegetarian kids. Both are so useful. No more boring sandwiches!
Alison Deering and Bob Lentz have done an awesome job. I give this cookbook a
5-star rating!
