Mordialloc, affectionately named 'Mordy' by Bayside locals, is perhaps best known for its 4km wide stretch of clean sand and clear sea, running from the creek all the way to Mentone.
As well as being a family friendly beach spot, Mordialloc is an established commercial hub, home to a selection of eateries, bakeries, specialist boutique shops and small businesses located along the shopping strip's iconic Main Street, enveloped by palm trees filled with chatty Rosella birds at dusk.
To encourage shoppers to pay a visit to Melbourne's popular Bayside town, the Mordialloc Traders Association have launched a Christmas Shopping Spree Competition. Shoppers have a chance to win a $1000 Mordialloc Shopping Spree, with a second prize of $500.
Receipts must be kept and winners will be asked to produce a receipt or the win is invalid. Receipts must be dated between 1st December 2013 and 24th December 2013. The prize will be shopping vouchers for Mordialloc Shopping Strip, valid until 24th March 2014.
Mordialloc's Shopping Spree Competition is a good enough reason as any to pay a visit to this particularly picturesque Bayside suburb, located within the Kingston municipality.
Mordialloc is found on the Frankston line, approximately 40 minutes from Melbourne's CBD, alternatively if you're driving from the city, take the Nepean Highway for the quickest route, or Beach Road as the scenic option.
