Toot toot and all aboard! All right folks this is something you can do with the kids that won't cost an arm and a leg and is really fun. But wait, it's not just for the kids. Grandmas and grandpas can go for a thrill ride, aunts and uncles can strut their stuff and mum and dad can sit back and feel the wind in their hair. So climb aboard the Mooroolbark Miniature Railway and hold on.
Rides only cost $2.50 per person and you get an 800m round trip of the grounds. You will get to venture under and over bridges, past the picnic grounds, through the spooky tunnel and past the workshop and the sheds. Here you can check out lots of other miniature steam and diesel trains being worked on.
BBQ facilities are available on site and the kids love to watch the trains go past while waiting for their lunch to cook. Picnic tables are available but its first come first served, so bring a rug just in case. If this is a spur of the moment adventure you can purchase food and drinks at the kiosk. Check out the website for more information on prices and what food is available.
