As summer creeps in, so does Moonlight Cinema, in time for those balmy nights. Times when it's much more pleasurable being outdoors under the stars with mates; sobbing or laughing over a movie, while enjoying nibbles and drinks, sprawled out on a bean bag or picnic blanket. In an informal setting, it's great for the young ones too as they have more freedom of movement, and the pooch is welcome (excluding Perth) too.

As expected, the program is phenomenal and jam-packed with acclaimed blockbusters, Christmas flicks, fan favourites, fierce female leads and family-friendly films for everyone to enjoy. Returning to the parklands of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, come along and watch a plethora of must-see films and returning favourites.

Pooches welcome - EXCLUDING Perth

The season kicks off with ROCKETMAN an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John's breakthrough years. It follows his transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John. Set to Elton's most beloved songs and starring Taron Egerton (Kingsman, Robin Hood, Eddie the Eagle), it's a very relatable story of how a small-town boy became one of the most iconic figures in pop culture.

With Christmas hot on our heels, look out for cute as a button Emilia Clarke as a disillusioned department store worker and heart throb Henry Golding in Last Christmas; the very watchable Love Actually; the lanky Elf that'll pull at your heartstrings; the quintessential Christmas classic, Home Alone and Bruce Willis' festive 80s action blockbuster Die Hard.

Rocketman

Fully loaded with a whole new team, Charlie's Angels and Hustlers starring Jennifer Lopez, celebrate fierce female leads, while fan favourites like Dirty Dancing, The Matrix, cult teen comedy Bring It On and mega-hit musical starring Hugh Jackman in The Greatest Showman make the cut. Family films to look forward to include Frozen 2, Jumanji: The Next Level and the magic of The Lion King.

As a BYO event (BYO alcohol is NOT permitted at Brisbane's Moonlight Cinema) you have the freedom to create your perfect outdoor cinema experience. If you're needing a night off from cooking, forget the picnic basket as Moonlight has you covered with onsite food trucks, a licensed bar and selections of hot food. Unfurl your picnic blanket or recline on a plush bean bed; catch up with your mates, enjoy family time or look forward to a sizzling first date - unwind in a lively atmosphere and enjoy a night under the stars.
