The Moonlight Cinema Melbourne Summer 2011/2012 Film Program has just been unveiled to the public and patrons can look forward to a range of cult classics, new releases and preview screenings.
It is a pretty exciting film line-up and the Melbourne event kicks off with a screening of The Descendants, the latest feature film from acclaimed director Alexander Payne. Other feature films screening in December include We Bought A Zoo, the long awaited feature film from Cameron Crowe, Life of Brian will screen appropriately on Christmas Eve and the cult classic The Princess Bride will screen on New Year's Eve.
The February film program features a preview screening of Carnage, the latest offering from Roman Polanski as well as a screening of Melancholia, directed by enfant terrible Lars von Trier and the acclaimed The Skin I Live In, directed by Pedro Almodóvar.

Melbourne's Moonlight Cinema is located in the Royal Botanic Gardens and tickets for the Melbourne Summer 2011/2012 season are currently on sale.
It is worth noting that Wednesdays are 'Discount Wednesdays' and all tickets are reduced to $12 and Gold Grass tickets are reduced to $25. However if a Preview Screening falls on a Wednesday, regular ticket prices will apply.
You can purchase tickets online or from the Moonlight Cinema Box Office at the event venue. Also food and drink will be available for purchase at the venue.
Lots of kids and lots of people who enjoy a drink particularly on warm nights but the only toilet facilities available are located a ridiculously long walk in the dark to the far side of the gardens. With 1500 tickets sold per session, you would think the organizers could afford to supply a few portable toilets....absolutely appalling.
