Summer in Australia is all about being outdoors and having fun. Australia's favourite outdoor cinema is back so you can do just that even after the sun has gone down. Moonlight Cinema's Summer Season screens in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane from 29 Nov 2018 to 31 Mar 2019, Perth 1 Dec 2018 to 31 Mar 2019 and Adelaide 8 Dec 2018 to 17 Feb 2019.
Tickets come in a variety of options, be it Adult, Concession, Seniors, Children 3-15yrs, Cinebuzz members (excludes NFT screenings), Gold Grass (your own bean bed in the premium viewing location), Connoisseur Lounge, (reserved bean bed in a prime area) Family Pass (2 adults 2 children or 1 adult 3 children) or Fan Favourite (selected FF films only) Screenings. Choose your comfort style be it bringing your own picnic rug, or hiring a bean bed. Buying your tickets online is the best option to guarantee entry to popular screenings. The other option is to purchase it from the box office, subject to availability. Check your Dec-Jan program on the website with February programs being uploaded mid January 2019, so stay in touch. The huge program of films includes advanced screenings of must-see films, top pics for award-season, a showcase of Australia's very best talents and a stack of new releases on offer. Catch up with friends, bond with family and kick back with a drink to enjoy films such as Aquaman, Vice, Bad Times at the El Royale, Mission Impossible: Fallout, and Crazy Rich Asians under the stars in picturesque parkland settings.
With Christmas on its way, it's no surprise that films like The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, The Grinch, and blockbusters like Love Actually and Elf, made the list. Family-friendly films allows you to enter the world of the Yeti in Smallfoot, a superhero family in Incredibles 2, magical moments in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and last year's smash hit The Greatest Showman.
The must-see list ranges from side-splitting comedies to epic adventures through time, all the way to top contenders for award season. Only the very best will do at Moonlight, so prepare for hilarity with Holmes and Watson, the legendary thief Robin Hood as you've never seen him before, a family friendly Transformer's spin-off, Bumblebee, and Mortal Engines from the team that brought life to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Australian cinematic talents take centre-stage as they burst onto the screen with a heart-warming remake of the classic Storm Boy; a 1950s Sydney with Ladies in Black, and a star-studded Boy Erased which is going to be gut-wrenching, when a young boy is forced into gay conversion therapy in the American South.
Make it an easy night out at this BYO (alcohol is not permitted at Brisbane's Moonlight Cinema) event that brings a festival atmosphere to film watching. Kick back, soak in the summer vibes and enjoy the onsite food truck offering up a licensed bar and a variety of delicious hot food and movie-going morsels to whet your appetite. Elevate the magic and treat yourself to Gold Grass for that A-List cinema experience. Reserved bean beds, premium viewing and wait service means you won't even have to get up from your bean bed.
