After a long hot day indoors, it's nice to be cool outdoors
Moonlight Cinema will be back again this year for the summer season from December 2015 to end of March 2016. The outdoor cinema is run by Event Cinemas and is held in most Australian capital cities. Most cities have movies screening Wednesday through to Sunday nights, always after dark. They screen the latest new releases, classic cult flicks, and perhaps an advance screening prior to the regular cinemas dates.
To enjoy the outdoor movie experience in style and extreme comfort you can purchase a Gold Grass ticket. These include a cosy bean bag lounger up close to the screen seating area. The Gold Grass section also has serve you at your seat bar service before and for one hour after the film begins. I think I would fall asleep in these as they look so comfy.
For other ticket holders you can choose your own spot on the green grassed area. Bring your picnic tea and a blanket and maybe some cushions. As the movie doesn't start until after dark these shows are probably best for adults as they would run for two hours or so. Some films will be suitable for older children who can stay up until after 10.30 pm and then travel home. For more information on the movie schedule during the event dates and to get your tickets in advance, go online here Click on your city for the program, then click at the movie you wish to see. There is also a box office at the entry however purchasing online you are sure to have a ticket and not wait in a queue.
If you sign up to be a Cine Buzz member the tickets are cheaper at $15. This is a free, membership and you will receive updates as to what shows are on and special announcements. A good thing about the ticket purchase is they all come with a rain-check so if the event gets rained out, then you can use the ticket for another date.
Gates open at 7pm with the movie screening at sundown, approximately 8.30pm for daylight saving times. You may need a small torch to help you find your way back to your car or bustop. Moonlight Cinema will be showing at the following venues over the summer.
