For a night of adventure, action and epic stories under the stars, could you really go past films like
No Time To Die, especially as it's Daniel Craig's last role as Bond. That's enough to make many cry on the inside. This time his mission is to rescue a kidnapped scientist, but it turns out to be far more treacherous than expected when the villain is armed with dangerous new technology. The much-awaited follow up -
Venom: Let There Be Carnage; Marvel Studios' next big-screen blockbuster is set to be another thrilling ride, especially with the charismatic all-time great Woody Harrelson in the film.
Spider-Man: No Way Home - you best watch
Spider-Man Far From Home first, if you don't remember the first film for a seamless continuation, which this film is, as the story continues. It would seem the same would apply for
The Matrix Resurrections. You almost need to watch a marathon or Matrix films for continuity, before watching the long-awaited fourth film from visionary filmmaker Lana Wachowski. You could call it a groundbreaking franchise that defined a genre. This new film reunites its original stars in Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in their iconic roles.
There are many other new films of note like the majestic
Dune, this time with a family already in control of the desert planet Arrakis, which is the only source of the coveted spice melange. This leads to the story exploring themes of politics, religion, and man's relationship to nature as a rebellion is led to restore a family's control of Arrakis. Let's face it, could you really miss seeing some of the big screen greats and charming newcomers like Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Charlotte Rampling, Timothée Chalamet, Stellan Skarsgård and Zendaya to name a few?
Spencer is going to be an interesting one for Princess of Wales' Diana Spencer lovers as Kristen Stewart takes on the challenge of the role. The marriage has long since grown cold, and rumours of affairs and a divorce abound. Peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. There's going to be eating, drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game and this year, things will be a whole lot different. The brilliant Sally Hawkins is bound to add some weight to this hefty take on Diana.
Two other films of note has to be
House of Gucci as Lady Gaga moves more towards being in films in her new career curve. But then, could you really say no to a Ridley Scott movie. This is the story of how Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, plotted to kill her husband, the grandson of renowned fashion designer Guccio Gucci. Gaga stars alongside some Hollywood greats like Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jack Huston, Jeremy Irons, Al Pacino and Salma Hayek.
Steven Spielberg's
West Side Story is another that's much talked about and has advance screenings on 17-19 December 2021. It's an adaptation of the 1957 hit musical of the same name and explores forbidden love and the rivalry between the Sharks and the Jets, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. Get in quick and book your tickets today for this and all other loved and familiar old-time favourites for a movie experience where you're not cooped up in a darkened room. In Covid times, being outdoors seems to be the safer option. Check out the films and dates in your state and enjoy the Jan 2022 program.
