Summer cinema is sorted
Long summer nights under a star studded screen start again in 2014/2015 with the Moonlight Cinema events around Australia
See the big name movie stars right under the stars as your summer entertainment is sorted as the much-loved Moonlight Cinema steps back into full swing for the 2014/2015 season in cities across Australia.
The star studded screenings will take place right down the eastern seaboard in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, over to Adelaide, as well as across the Nullarbor in Perth, as Australia's biggest open air cinema event kicks off it's nineteenth season.
At sundown, the silver screens will light up as cinema goers recline on bean bed under the stars and on manicured lawns. Film enthusiasts will be treated to new releases, cult favourites and even advance screenings as they enjoy the ultimate open air cinema experience and the sultry temperatures only summer can bring.
Enjoy beer, wine, cider and your own picnic as you recline on the manicured lawns, or hire out a bean bed
Forget popcorn, new LA style food trucks will be offering up gourmet food to-go at each outdoor venue - adding a little flair to the typical cinema fare. Pack a picnic, and pop a bottle of sparkling, as audiences will enjoy live music at the Melbourne and Sydney venues before sessions stars and the sun goes down. Expect dancing on the lawn to be almost mandatory as the festive vibe is sure to kick into full swing over the silly season.
If the prospect of champagne under the starts while being entertained with live music and the best new flicks wasn't enough, celebrity guests will be joining the crowd at special red carpet events to be announced at each venue – adding more star power to the already starlit event.
Also back by popular demand will be the ever popular 'doggie nights' for film loving pooches (and their owners) to enjoy a picture together, in addition to the ever popular themed screenings, and showings of cult classics which everyone will be sure to remember.
Even your dog is welcome to catch a flick, its sure to be a paw-some experience!
For those wanting to upgrade to something a little more VIP, the Gold Grass section will offer the moonlight cinema experience with all the trimmings, offering the best viewing location, perfectly puffed bean bed, and a fully catered wait service.
For a unique cinema experience with a distinctly festival vibe, it easy to see why cinema goers and those looking for something fun to do, highly anticipate the annual Moonlight Cinema events each year.
Check the event website for more details on the exact programme of films to be shown over the summer, including specifics on pricing. Most tickets cost around $17.50 for adults, $16.00 for concession, $14.00 for senior/children and $15.00 for CineBuzz members. Tickets can be purchased at the box office at each venue, or online.
