Meet Michael Klim In A Mile Long Swim Off Mooloolaba Beach
Ever wanted to take on an Olympian at their own game? Well here's your chance. Michael Klim is coming to town and you're invited to compete against him.

Welcome to the latest addition to the Weekend Warriors Event Milk and Co Queensland Ocean Swim Series - the Mooloolaba Mile. Series ambassador Klim will be joining participants on the start line in the main event at Mooloolaba Beach on February 17.

The big show is a mile/1.6km course open water swim. The M shaped path starts at Mooloolaba's south-eastern end (the spit) and goes in a northly direction. The first turn is located near the start of the Mooloolah River mouth. Midway, the course brings swimmers back towards the breakers then out again to the final turn.

Think you've got what it takes?

Half mile swimmers will join the Mooloolaba Mile course at the halfway mark. They will swim out behind the breakers to the final turn then back to the beach for a sprint to the finish in front of Loo With A View.

The 300 metre Kids Surf Dash is for the younger swimmers. They will start a short distance from the finish line. This is for swimmers eight years and older. The one mile and half miles are both open to those ages 10 years and older. There is no maximum age restriction so train hard - otherwise you may get beaten by someone twice or even three times your age. To check out all course maps check this page.

The swim is 1.6km or a mile long - are you ready for it?
