On Saturday the Mooloolah River and surrounding canals will come alive with Christmas lights and Christmas festivities as the 2022 Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade takes to the water with colour, creativity and sparkling entertainment.

Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade is a fun and exciting family Christmas tradition on the Sunshine Coast. This spectacular Christmas Boat Parade is for everyone, whether you're keen on joining in by entering your boat or cheering from the sidelines, along the canals, with family and friends.

A Christmas lights display with a twinkling difference
Organised by the
Mooloolaba Yacht Club, the Christmas Boat Parade is a Christmas lights display with a twinkling difference. Boats of every shape and size, jet skis and homes along the waterways, are all '
decked' out in their Christmas finery to participate in the Parade.

How many Santas can you count?
The Mooloolaba Yacht Club's Christmas Boat Parade is a FREE spectator event. Entry fees for the Christmas Boat Parade and house competition will be donated to local charity
DV Safe Phone*, so everybody and anybody is encouraged to join in, by
entering a boat - private or commercial - or their
waterfront home or building. For those who prefer to participate from the side lines (or in this case, water-lines), invite your family and friends to join you and grab a great vantage spot along the canals.

Waterway homes get into the spirit of Christmas
The official Mooloolaba Yacht Club's Christmas Boat Parade Course Map link may be
viewed via this link. The Parade course will start at 7.00pm and will go anti-clockwise from The Wharf Mooloolaba to the end of Mooloolah Island, then down the main Kawana canal to Lawries Marina, back to the river, along past La Balsa Park, returning to The Wharf Mooloolaba for judging. The '
Best Dressed' Boat Competition is once again open to all participants - private boats, commercial boats and houses/buildings - with fabulous prizes up for grabs, with everything from seal swims to dinner vouchers. Get more entry and course information from the

Festivities for everyone to enjoy
Safety Information for Water Craft participants -
Safety Tip 1 - As there will be a number of small craft participating in the Parade, please be aware of all craft in your immediate surrounds.
Safety Tip 2 - There is a tight corner at Kawana (at the end of the main canal) and caution needs to be observed with incoming and outgoing vessels. Craft speed may need to be varied to ensure safe passing.

The Water Police will be present during the Parade, so please ensure to observe -
The rules of the 'road' and passing boats
Safe handling of your boat
Please ensure that there are sufficient life jackets for everyone on board
Navigation lights to be used
NO drinking and steering!
In the event that the Water Police or Coast Guard depart the Parade's course due to operational reasons, please continue to follow the Mooloolaba Yacht Club's lead vessel.
