Mooba has branched out to one of Perth's newest suburbs
If you're looking at building a house in the brand new Cockburn suburb of Treeby (formerly part of Banjup), you have the added bonus of enjoying a lovely coffee while you discuss your new abode.
Mooba, the popular little coffee shop located in Cockburn Central, Wembley and Perth has now opened a new franchise in the growing estate and is primarily open to coincide with the Calleya Estate sales office schedule.
In an extra incentive for families, Mooba is totally family-friendly and even has a cute play area for the kids, plus a really cool playground only a short walk away. There is a sandpit and a few little toys here and there, plus log steps.
Once you arrive, you'll find picnic style tables and benches and a few other little tables, chairs and beanbags dotted around, plus a couch on the veranda. We sat in an undercover but sandy area, so if you do have a picnic blanket, feel free to bring it along.
They also sell a range of juices, smoothies and iced coffees, plus milkshakes, loose leaf teas, chai tea and the all-important babyccino for just 50c. I mention the price because when you have a toddler who has discovered the world of babyccinos, you know that 50c is a good price for a little bit of frothed milk in a cup. Some places charge up to $2.50 for the same thing.
We sat in a sandy spot as mentioned above – luckily I always have a couple of blankets in the car – as most of the other shaded spots were taken. It took me a while to notice there is a chalkboard in this area too, but bring your own chalk.
The muffin was delightfully sweet and the coffee at its typical best. I've frequented the Mooba branch in Cockburn Central several times for a takeaway and have never been disappointed, and this coffee was just as good.
