A Moovelous Experience
I wanted to try this restaurant the minute I set foot in Broadbeach and saw the big bull outside. After looking at the menu and having a nose inside it was definitely on the to do list, and I finally managed to get there for my sister-in-laws birthday, and it didn't disappoint.
Delightfully named Moo Moo, this is a wonderful upmarket steak restaurant that offers sophisticated dining in the heart of Broadbeach with a cool sultry vibe. Located on Surf Parade overlooking Victoria Park, this truly is an occasion restaurant that delivers on every level.
I went with my brother, sister-in-law and my 3 year old niece sometimes in posh restaurants like this you can be unsure to take little ones but the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and absolutely catered for and looked after her.
On arrival whilst we adults were choosing they offered to bring out almost immediately a simple steak and fries for Sophie so that she didn't have a long wait and could eat at a reasonable time and get watching her DVD it was a very nice touch and you could tell that they wanted to make our meal as enjoyable as possible.
There are so many steaks and cuts of meat to choose from on the menu together with a variety of side dishes, sauces and accompaniments. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful and talked through in detail the difference between the cuts and the many options for how they are cooked all to make sure we got exactly what we wanted.
The steak was delicious probably the best steak I have ever had and the fries and vegetables were excellent too, as was the wine. The food overall couldn't have been better but what makes this place special is the impeccable service - they manage to get the right level of attentiveness without being overpowering which can be difficult to achieve.
My brother mentioned to them when we arrived that it was my sister-in-laws birthday so at the end of the meal they bought out a lovely cake with "happy birthday" written on the plate and a candle again a lovely touch which makes this for me one of the best restaurants on the Gold Coast.
With regard to cost it's true that you get what you pay for, so for quality and food such as this you have to expect to pay a bit more than the average meal (the cheapest cut is approx $32-39 and cheapest bottle of wine $34-38, 3 large sides to share for $21) but it is absolutely worth it. For an occasion or just to treat yourself and loved ones I think this is totally the place to go when you want something a bit extra special.
It has a great atmosphere; the staff are welcoming and extremely professional yet very friendly and the food is just yummy. It's an award winning restaurant and i can see why.
It also has a wine bar area with a cute outdoor terrace which opens onto Victoria Park and has outdoor seating perfect for a few drinks before or after your meal or just drinks after work, roll on those summer nights.
My tip is you must book you simply wont get a table otherwise especially at the weekend. It is always busy so be sure to book at least a week in advance to make sure you don't miss out on the day and time that you want.
