I'm a mum of teenage boys living in Mindarie and enjoying all that life in Australia has to offer. I am always looking for something new and taking time to enjoy the little things in life.......

Take time to enjoy...
Today found me with some time to wander and appreciate my surroundings in Montrose Park. It was interesting to read this bushland has been adopted by the local primary school. I imagine it will be great introducing the children to this native bushland and ensuring they are aware of how important is to conserve the plants and wildlife for all to enjoy.
Even weeds can be pretty?
The entire 6.5 square km of reserve is brimming with life just beginning or fading away. Shots of jet black contrast against pale pink buds waiting to burst forth. There are pockets of lavender lilac and curls and swirls of sensitive yet robust flora. Whilst zooming in to take these photographs this little fella caught my eye.
Watching you watching me
If you are like me and think these reserves "look after themselves" and are left to thrive, it is is important to note that they are actually reliant on help from the local community to maintain the area and keep it free from rubbish, weeds and feral animals. The obvious threat is fire and we should all remain vigilant and report anything suspicious. If you would like to be part of a community/environmental group you can call City of Wanneroo on 9405 5000.
