is in the delightful Montrose Shopping Strip at the start of the Mt. Dandenong Tourist Road.


The floral display on the footpath is enticing. Cut flowers and colourful pots of crepe myrtle.




Enter and you are hit with an Aladdin's cave of colour and freshness. Colour from the flowers and freshness from the fruit and vegetables.





The first colour that hits your eyes is a score or more of smiling yellow sunflowers. They head the centre display of many colourful flowers including some exotic-looking blooms.


The right-side display is a display of fruit and vegetables almost as colourful as the flowers. A large variety of both were available with their prices clearly marked. I noted some of the prices and compared them with my local supermarket. Some were the same some were a little more and some were a little less. But, the came out on top with looks and quality.


It is a family business and Sopath was on duty when I called in.


The left side has a large rack of unique greeting cards for every occasion.


Feeling right at home was a row of cute bears, just waiting to be adopted. Below them are boxed flower gifts waiting to be carried away for some lucky recipient.

Decades ago, every strip shopping centre had a shop like this, we called them greengrocers, where the owners would visit the wholesale fruit and vegetable market daily to stock their shelves. It's nice to see some have survived.
