If you're escaping to the
Dandenong Ranges for the weekend and the words "Are we there yet?" are ringing in your ears, it might be time to stop the car and explore the
Montrose Community Playground . It can be found at the base of
Mount Dandenong at the beginning of the scenic Mount Dandenong Tourist Road.

Let the fun begin!
The words that greet you as you walk through the gates of the Montrose Community Playground are, "To have a dream is to be inspiring; to realise that dream is inspirational". They appear because the installation of the Montrose Community Playground came from the community, everything from the fundraising to its creation.
The wide range of colourful, adventurous equipment, covering a large area, meets the needs of children of all ages. There are swings, locally themed cubbyhouses such as the Montrose library, bug and motorbike models, slides, net structures to climb on and that's just the beginning.

Play equipment to suit all ages!
The intricate artwork decorating each section creates a wonderful environment, which children can't help but investigate and play in. Ring tail possums and other native birds and animals feature widely in the paintings opening the door for a game of, "How many rosellas/possums can you spot?".

Cubbyhouses painted by local artists.
The reserve also features a sports oval and barbeque area just behind. A great place to stop, explore and imagine.
