Enjoy an afternoon and evening of great beers and cider, good beer drinking food and cool music in Fortitude Valley at the
. This one off event will give you an opportunity to enjoy a range of craft beers created in collaboration with BrewDog, the company behind Brisbane's latest brewery.
Who is BrewDog
BrewDog is a Scottish brewery who have recently opened a new brewery here in Brisbane. They represent the new face of craft beer in that they work with a range of different labels but are able to deliver wider distribution and promotion through being a larger company. I know craft beer purists might complain about this, but this is the economical middle ground between large-scale industrial and often tasteless beers and the overpriced small brewery.
The Event
The event starts at 3 pm and runs through to 11 pm and the ticket price of $12 includes one beer or cider. So it could be a great way to start the afternoon in The Valley, a good dinner option or something for later, depending on your style.
The location at 98 Montpelier Road at the Bowen Hills end of Fortitude Valley is an industrial area of warehouses, which will transform into a nice little popup venue away from most of the crowds, but still within walking distance of pubs and clubs if you want to keep partying after.
The Drinks
So my understanding is that all drinks featured on the night have been created in cooperation with BrewDog. These beers have been made as a one-off for the event. Once they are sold out, that will be it.
Brisbane based
Green Beacon Brewery is an award-winning brewery who focus on creating all natural beers from the freshest ingredients. Their pub at Teneriffe has become known for both its food and beer. They have recently released their Hound of Hades beer in cooperation with BrewDog.
The
Mismatch Brewing Company is an Adelaide brewery and the winner of Champion Australian Beer at the 'Beer Indies' and was awarded Champion Medium Brewery Royal Adelaide Beer & Cider Awards. At the beer mixer, they will be featuring their Native Pils.
Started by friends who come from a winemaking background, Melbourne based
Hop Nation , brings that same care and attention to their brews with the cheekiness that would never be tolerated in the wine community. Their collaboration beer for this event is Jedi Jane.
Batch Brewery, based in Sydney, will be providing Punk IPA, which sounds like it should be intense and something you would want to pair with the spiciest chicken wings you can order. I won't know until I try it though.
Capital Brewery is Canberra based. There 'good natured' offering is Tropic Like It's Hot which is a Pineapple & Jalapeno Gose.
Cider fans won't be left out with an offering from Adelaide Hills Cider company.
The Food
Food will be provided by a number of food trucks. You can tell that the selection is focused on food that goes well with beer. King of the Wings serves US style chicken wings, New Farm based Da Burger will be serving gourmet burgers and Beacon Bites will be providing food selections from Green Beacon's Brewery pub.
The Music
Entertainment will be provided by A Love Supreme.
Note
This is a ticketed event. You can book
tickets online or buy them on the day unless sold out for $12. The event is cashless so bring your cards to pay for additional drinks and food.
