Delicious Mexican food in a great Mooloolaba restaurant
If there's one restaurant you can always rely on, it's Montezuma's. I first encountered their delicious Mexican food years ago on the Gold Coast. When I moved to the Sunshine Coast in the past few years I was happy to see Montezumas waiting for me in Mooloolaba, right on the Esplanade.
This is the perfect place for dinner no matter the occasion - casual meal with friends, a hot date, family time, you name it. They offer up delicious and wholesome Mexican foods at affordable prices. Service here is also a stand out, they've always got plenty of staff on and they're very attentive.
The Montezuma's Delight with shredded beef ($17.95)
The Montezumas have been around for decades. The first opened at Burleigh Heads in 1978. From there they've grown, and now have 21 restaurants spread out over Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
The menu here is quite extensive. You could peruse it all night long but the stomach is growling and a decision has to be made. You can't go wrong with a burrito, wheat tortilla with sour cream and your choice of filling, baked in the oven (From $17.95) or the combination dinner ($19.95).
I've tried plenty of things on the menu but I always go back to the Montezuma's Delight, a corn tostada smothered with frijoles, cheddar, heaped with a diced vegetable salad, ranchero sauce, sour cream, topped with sweet black olives (From $15.95). I go with carne aka shredded beef as my filling every time, it never fails to fill me up. If you've really got an appetite, consider sharing a bowl of nachos (half serve $9.95) with the rest of your party. If you've got kids tagging along, you'll find they have their very own menu, including a choice of desserts.
Right on the Mooloolaba Esplanade - you can't miss it
Montezumas is also licensed, and they have an extensive bar selection. The Mexican Sangria is the best you'll ever have. They also have a great list of magaritas, cocktails, mocktails, Mexican and local beers, wines and soft drinks. It can turn a good night into a great one just like that.
Monetzumas's Restaurants have been around for so long for two reasons - great food and great service. You only have to look in the front doors of the restaurants on a Friday or Saturday night to know just how popular this place is. Book in some night soon, or ring in for some take away and head to the beach.
