If you spend your weekends running from garage sale to garage sale then this weekend is going to be like heaven for you. There is a place where the whole neighbourhood is having a garage sale and you can stroll from garage sale to garage sale instead of running. The St James's (apparently that's how they spell it) Park and Heights Neighbourhood Watch Monster Garage Sale is on this weekend. The monster, and I do mean monster, garage sale is a feature of the St James's Park community.
This beautiful little enclave in Birkdale can be entered either from St James or Clive Roads and will have over 30 homes all set up and ready to deal. If you like a bargain, and who doesn't, then you are going to have a day to remember in St James's Park and Heights.
The garage doors go up at 7.00am and the bargains will be getting dealt until 12.00 noon.
So, get yourself to St James or Clive Roads and then just follow the signs you don't want to miss this shindig.
Just follow the signs and have some fun
Be quick or you could miss out on something you have always needed. Something that will make life complete for you because you are going to find that special something at this sale. Just check out these goodies and try and tell me they're not household necessities:
The sale includes; clothes, shoes, jewellery, ornaments, indoor/outdoor/pool furniture, white goods, kitchen appliances, Manchester, books, CDs, DVDs, bikes, toys, baby items, rocking horse, scooters, slide, wetsuit, racing driver's suit, fibreglass dinghy, mulcher, rotary hoe, pool table, tents, compressor, tools (including electrical and garden), treadmill, gym items, left-hand golf clubs, musical instruments, Xbox, Avon, Tupperware and much, much more.
You can even pick up some honey obtained from the local bees by our resident apiarist.
Best of all you could find yourself driving away off on the holiday of a lifetime, in your own Toyota Coaster mobile home now that's something you don't see at every monster garage sale!
I told you these were necessities I've got dibs on the racing driver's suit (just joking, it wouldn't fit me!).
As you go about your bargain hunting keep a nose out for the local Birkdale Scouts who are running a Sausage Sizzle and selling icy cold drinks to raise funds for their organisation. Those poor residents, they are going to have to sit in the beautiful aroma of a sausage sizzle while they man their sales' tables with no way of getting their own sausage!
Get there early and enjoy yourself. Breathe in the good clean air of Birkdale, you could visit the Bay while you're there, and feel good about yourself for helping the environment through recycling such wonderful household essentials.
