A taste of Paris in Brentford Square!

Two years ago, Elias and Adeline opened a small cake shop called Monsieur Dupont at 41 Brentford Square, Forest Hill.

This small shopping centre has a lot going for it, as the car park testifies always being full no matter what time you drive in. Monsieur Dupont Is a small cake shop/coffee shop filled with masses of colour, flavour and choices. Tucked down towards the back of the centre, Monsieur Dupont is unobtrusively but happily beckoning passers by to enter in.

Adeline is in charge of the coffee machine, which runs hot providing great coffee - hot but not stewed as so many coffee shops do. The glass counter shelves are filled with the most delicious quality cakes for all occasions, with eatables ranging from savoury through to the sweetest of the sweet. It's a matter of having a coffee and a cake, and then buying something extra to take home.

Starting with the savoury choices, apart from the smaller pies, Monsieur Dupont bakes large family size pies in a number of flavours. Chicken and Vegetable, Beef Curry, and more. They're also well known for their Provincial Slices and Frittata Slices, full to the brim of goodness and flavours.

Now we come to the French sweet-tastes. Again small one serve cakes - strawberry tarts, fruit flans, chocolate eclairs, brownie slices. Beautifully made and decorated, tempting and tasty. These cakes are just the right thing to invite family and friends for afternoon tea. I chose one of their Paris Brest to have with my coffee. A luxurious little delicacy with hidden flavours only noticable following your first bite.
