A hot and spicy dining experience in Windsor
How much heat can you handle? Thai food is a favourite of ous, as my husband and I love a bIt of heat and spice In our food. We recently dined at one of our 'go to' Thai restaurants in Windsor, Mon's Thai Rarnaharn.

We have dined here on many occasions as our son attends football training not too far from here. Mon's Thai Rarnaharn is located just off Lutwyche Road and is always popular with both dine in and take away customers.

Evening dining

We had an early dinner here last week satisfying our taste for chilli. On the front of the menu they have a chilli guide, so you can opt for mild, medium, hot or Thai hot for those who are brave enough to go there. We usually chose hot as it delivers the heat as well as retaining all the flavour.

This evening we started with the mixed entree ($9.50) comprising of spring roll, curry puff, dim sim and coconut prawn. The mixed entree is usually a favourite choice of ours as it allows us to have a small taste of most of the entree items. Just enough to whet our appetites for the mains.

My husband ordered the chef's Duck curry ($24.50) with vegetables, lychees and pineapple in a creamy yellow curry. Certainly a good choice as it was full of flavour and heat! My choice was a combination seafood with chilli and shallots ($24.50) Also delivering in the heat and flavour department.

Both meals were shared and subsequently devoured with great vigour and satisfaction. The heat in both meals adequate enough to make my husband's head sweat.

Mon's Thai Rarnaharn is fully licensed as well as BYO for bottled wine, so you can enjoy a glass or two of your favourite drop as well. The dining area is either indoor or outdoor under cover and at this time of the year, eating outside is quite lovely.

The restaurant is open for lunch on Thursday and Friday from 11 to 2.30pm and 7 days for dinner from 5pm. We have been fortunate to walk in and get a table but I would recommend calling for a reservation especially on Friday or Saturday nights.

The staff were quite attentive and efficient in their service and food as always was yummy. This restaurant is one that we are happy to return to for our hit of heat.
