A sweet option of late night hangout
The wonderful idea of late night hangout is proposed at Monga Sweet Cafe, specialising in Chinese desserts and drinks on the second floor of a secret building on Russell street. Their casual interior with lots of sofa seats are truly comforting, inviting chats among good friends to continue deep into the night.
At Monga, the dessert menu is extensive, while countless savoury dishes are presented too. A variety of Chinese teas come in pots, or coffee may accompany those delightful sweets.
The menu lists a number of cold, warm and hot desserts using sago, small transparent tapioca balls made from tropical palms. Those unique-textured sago bits are mixed in mildly sweet coconut milk, which you slurp with a Chinese spoon. With the tropical soup as a base, you garnish the topping of your choice from a variety options, such as mangos, pomelo and ice cream.
